Away from the crowded and polluted world... take a break in pure environment of Traditional Kumaoni Village for rejuvenation and for a noble cause.      

Eco-village camp, Matkanya is situated at a distance of 38 Kms from Almora in a calm and quite location at an elevation of about 7000 ft surrounded by Rhododendron and Oak trees and a close view of panoramic Panchachuli and Api Numche peaks of Nepal Himalayas. Scenic beauty of eye catching sunrise and sunset, breathtaking vally view if trraces. One can feel the essence if pure atmosphere and listen to uninterrupted chirping of mountain birds.

* To promote Community based Eco-Tourism for rural  

   development.

* Upliftment of rural poor people by training them for local 

   Guide, Mountain Chef, Hospitality and Services and

   Adventure activities.

* To stop migration of Villagers to cities by creating local 

   employment opportunities.

* Main beneficiaries of this project will be poor rural people

* To promote equality, fraternity , liberty, spirituality, amity

   and unity in the society.

Nearby spots to visit-

Jageshwar- 8 Kms motor able road and 2.5 Kms trek. One of the twelve Jyotrilingas (Nagesh) situated in beatiful narrow valley surrounded by magnificent Deodar (Cedar) trees. The temple complex consists of 124 temples and hundreds of statues of 8th century.

 

Dandeshwar Temples- 5 Km trek. An example of 8th century architecture. Shiva in sleeping posture.

 

Jhakarsem Temple- 2.5 Km trek. Ancient temple of local diety of Lord Sem and magnificent view of Nandadevi peak.

 

Vridha Jageshwar- 6 Km trek.Ancient Shiva temple and panoramic view of whole middle Himalayas.

 

Mirtola Ashram- 7 Km trek. Krishna Temple.
