Famous for 12th centaury Sun Temple said to be second after Konark also called Bara Aditya. Very good example of medieval period scripture. Sun God riding chariot drawn by seven horses with Aruna in driving seat. A rear scripture of Ganges in Lalitasana is also engraved. Besides main temple 44 other temples of various Gods are also located in depilated condition.  Splendid view of Almora Town and nearby villages. G.B. Pant Institute Of Himalayan Environment and Development is also located here.




Once the summer capital of Chand Kings, Binsar is a wild life sanctuary famous for its flora and fauna. Splendid and panoramic view of peaks from Jhandi Dhar.




Fruit orchards and panoramic   view    of     peaks    from Banaridevi   hill. Kalyani Ashram is situated 8 Km ahead where a splendid and beautiful temple complex is being constructed on Somnath pattern. Ancient Banari (Bindra Devi) temple is situated on a hill top haft Km from road side. This top also presents a panoramic view of Almora town and Ramgarh, Gagar etc of Nainital district.         




One of the twelve Jyotir Lingas, Jageshwar Temple complex situated between dense magnificent Deodar forest on the bank of Jata Ganga consisting of 124  temples with hundred of statues famous for exquisite craftsmanship of medieval period which also find mention by famous Chinese traveler Hu-en-tsang.   Most of the temples  were destroyed during Rohhila attack and most of the statues had been broken or stolen or shifted to other Museums.  Devotees offer worship on Shivratri and during the whole month of Savan (July-August).

Beautiful valley famous for rice and potato crops. Ancient temple of Shiva on the confluence of Kosi and Falghu rivers.  3 Km towards Kausani at Chanoda an Ashram established by Gandhi ji in 1929 still produces quality woolen goods. Someswar has been declared as a Tehsil in 2004. A road leads to Dwarahat and other leading to Bageshwar via Girechina Top (08 Jeep able + 2 KM trekking) which presents a scintillating view of whole central Himalayan Peaks.
